Official Rules and Gameplay

HOW TO WIN

Be the first player to collect 3 different full sets of critters. For standard game play for 2-6 players, 3 cards (including Wild Cards) make a full set. When playing with 2-4 players, you can choose to make 4 full sets of 3 cards the winner or each full set must contain 4 cards for longer game play.

THE SET UP

Shuffle the cards and deal 5 to each player and place the remaining cards in the center, this becomes the Draw Pile. Choose a player to start and the game play starts clockwise (to the left).

HOW TO PLAY

  1. On your turn, always take 1 card from the Draw Pile.
  2. You can only have up to 5 cards in your hand after a single turn, so you must play at least one card if you are holding more than 5 cards. (For games with 6+ players, you can hold only 4 cards in your hand at a time)
  3. You can choose to:
    1. Place animal card down in front of you. This becomes a Down Card. Wild Cards can be any Animal Card in the deck.
    2. These cards are now in position to make a full set; however, they can be taken from you. Once a card is Down it remains Down and no player can return the card to their hand.
    3. Play an Action Card: follow the instructions on the card and place it in the center pile to use it.
    4. Play a Full Set: If you have 3 cards of a full set, then you can place it down at one time. However, this makes the set eligible to be taken by an Ultimate Collector Card.
    5. Complete a Full Set: If you have 1-2 cards to complete a set, you can place them on your Down Cards.
  4. If you are holding 5 or fewer cards after you draw, you may choose to not play a Down Card or Action Card.
  5. HINT: THE STRATEGY OF THE GAME IS WHEN BEST TO PLAY A DOWN CARD OR ACTION CARD!
  6. Your turn ends after you play a Down Card, Action Card, Full Set or choose not to play a card.

SPECIAL SITUATIONS

  1. You may play a Wild Card as a Down Card. However, if it is not part of a full set then it can be taken or swapped by an opponent.
  2. If a Wild Card completes a full set and you draw another Animal Card in that same category, then you may place the Animal Card down in place of and move the Wild Card to another set. This is considered one move and ends your turn. Remember, Wild Cards can be taken or swapped by an opponent if they are not part of a full set.
  3. If you use an Ultimate Collector Card to steal a full set that contains a Wild Card and you happen to have another Animal in the same category as one of your Down Cards, then your turn ends when you steal the full set.  You may swap out your Animal card with the Wild Card on the next turn and this constitutes one move.
  4. An "It's Okay to Say NO!" Card cancels any action played against you including "Hop Over" and "Game Changer".  Once a "NO!" card is played, this ends the turn. Another "NO!" card cannot be played to reverse the action cancelled by a "NO!" card.
  5. If you are playing 3 cards to make a full set, then no more than 3 cards can be part of that set. For example, if you have three animal cards in the same category then you can not place a Wild Card down to "park" that card until you can complete another set.
  6. If you have already created a full set with 3 Animal Cards and you draw the 4th one of that category, then you can use this 4th Animal Card to create a new set with two Wild Cards.
